Chris Powers is an Americana singer-songwriter based out of eastern Pennsylvania, United States. His tunes range from heartfelt to humorous and quite a bit in between. Chris's debut album, The ‘Unknown,’ is an eclectic yet cohesive collection of ten songs written over a 10-year period. It’s set to release in the summer of 2024.

Chris’s musical journey started quite a bit later than most. He didn't pick up a guitar or start singing until he was in his thirties. Within weeks of playing, Chris realized that he really enjoyed writing his own songs and had a natural knack for the craft. “The singer-songwriter world immediately drew me in and I immersed myself in it” says Chris.

Chris took a better late than never approach to his new passion and dove in headfirst. He played every chance he got through open mics and craigslist meetups, which eventually led to playing in several popular regional bands (Ain't Dead Yet & Cetronia Soul Shakers) and as a solo act.

Heavily influenced by songwriting legends like John Prine and Paul Simon, Chris is known for his carefully crafted lyrics and catchy melodies that capture your attention and walk that fine line between clever and corny. “The greatest compliments I get are when people can hear the influence John Prine has had on my music. I hear it quite often while playing out and it puts a huge smile on my face every time” says Chris.

Chris has shared the stage with award winning singer-songwriters like Craig Bickhardt (songs recorded by Ray Charles, B.B. King, Johnny Cash, the Judds, Tony Rice and Alison Krauss), Lizanne Knott and members of the David Bromberg quintet and the Robert Randolph Band. Chris is just as comfortable playing to intimate audiences at quaint wineries as he is to crowds of thousands at major regional music festivals and amphitheaters.
